A virus just can't cause any damage to any monitor. For that to be possible, your hardware would need some kind of, non-existant, sefl destruct instructions. I've only seen that in cyberpunk style paper and pencil RPG games.
There is some fault with the monitor. It can be it's power supply or some other internal components.
If you are lucky, it's just a blown fuse.
IF it's still under warenty, bring it to where you bought it and have them look at it.
Some peoples have had success by changing the invertor, but they had very different symptoms.
It's probable that your monitor is just dead.
