how can i fix my black & decker hedge trimmer?

i've cut the cord accidentley, i've tried to fix it by puting the wires back together but still no power

I have a Black & Decker GT 524 Hedge Trimmer for about 3-4 years,recently it wouldnt turn on,checked fuses,changed switch's ,sometimes works then stops.
Could you tell me what the problem could be?, Brushes?

make sure you connect the wires safely and check the fuse in in the plug.
