how can i fix my ceiling light?

my ceiling fan light switch, pull string type is stuck in the off position and would not pull. Can it be repaired and how?

Turn off the circuit breaker for your ceiling fan. Remove the switch assembly. Take it with you to a Home Depot, Lowes etc. to match it up. Then install the new one. If the stores don't have it, take it to an electrical store to have them match it up. Hope this helps. Good luck.
