one of the first things would be to make sure all the cables are in correctly. This sounds (no pun) like it's a power issue - is the power led on? If not, perhaps you could try a different PSU - i don't know if this model has an internal or external PSU.
If it has an internal PSU, you probably can't replace it - look for fuses that may have blown.
Sometimes, even if the LCD works, the backlight can fail - see if you can see any images on the screen - a good test would be to use it with a laptop & play something with high contrast.
If it is just the backlight that's broken, you might be able sell it on ebay - there's a demand for LCDs broken in *this* way.
