I have a problem with my Panasonic DMR-EZ45VEBS VHS< DVD Combo.

When I switch it on, the DVD player starts making strange beeping noises. It also starts making the same noises when I put a disk into the draw and then it brings up an error message saying: "No Read".

The little disc symbol on the front LCD display also stays on and won't go out even when the machine is in sleep mode.

Can you help.
