how to fix my hotpoint wm52 washer?

when trying to use my washer after selecting which cycle to use and pressing the on butten everything is fine but as soon as the washer starts it trips the electric out what is the problem ???

if this happens as soon as water enters machine, check the heater element is not S/C (short circuited ).
a replacement element would be needed.
