drink spilt into stereo - repair or new radio?

Hi, I recently bought a Ford Galaxy Zetec (05 plate). It has a double din 6000CD fitted. Two days after I bought it, I managed to spill a full cup of coffee over the stereo.

It fizzled and died almost immediately. Two days later, It magically came back to life. Everything seems find except the volume stalk does not work and the stereo is stuck on a low volume setting.

Does anybody out there think this is worth trying to get repaired or should I just take my licks and buy a new one.

Cheers, Mark

Repair could get costly.Lots of units on ebay for around £40-£50 notes.Other than that go full hog and buy an after market head unit BUT be aware that it isn't a double din in your Galaxy its smaller about a din and a half.you have been warned!!
