I bought this RCA tv secondhand - no remote. I didn't program it in on my cable universal remote right away and when I finally did program it this annoying screen showed up! This Guide Plus screen never showed up before and I got the impression you need the remote to turn the thing off. Is there a way to do it without the remote? Will turning it on manually avoid this screen? I kind of got the idea that might work from scanning the comments and if I need to do it that way I will. Anything to avoid that GP screen!
