how can i fix my wt960?

the timer counts down to 0:01 and then stops. the drum is rotating slowly but water is not drained from machine and clothes are not fully washed?
have to turn machine off and wait for door timer to release my (still wet) clothes.
can you help?

could be an open circuit heating element or a broken wire to the heater
