I am unable to close the door have found a steel pin inside door cover so this has got to belong somewhere, any suggestions on how to replace it and where it belongs? or do I need to get hold of a new catch?
I have found a pin, perhaps it belongs to your door, trouble is I don't know what your door is connected to, numbnuts.

steel pin is normally attached to the top frame of the dishwasher.this pokes through the hole in the door when you shut it which latches the catch and operates the micro switch which the starts the dishwasher up as it now knows the door is shut and safe to start a cycle.Makes and models do come in handy when asking questions though.lol
