sharp stereo stacker system?

i have a 20+years old sharp stereo set up,everything works fine! (tuner-cd-tape)but it switches itself off,at various times (not consistant) i switch it on again and away it go'es ,only to switch off when it feels like it,i don't want to spend good dollars,only to be told it's unrepairable,is there anyone that can give me some advise please.regards peter

20 years ago "Sharp" were the low end of the Hi-Fi market. To get 20 years out of it is a miracle, so you can put up with it as it is, or find a dumpster for it. I bought a J E Sugden A48 amplifier in 1979, and it has been in use nearly every day since then. These amps are hand made and built to last.
