Where does clip fit?

Agfa reflecta diamator AF projector.

On opening up by taking box with plug etc out I found small U shaped clip and cannot find where it fits. Projector works OK most of time but occasionally mis-feeds a slide. Should the clip be somehow fitted to the feed arm?David D
