The door will not open on my Hotpoint Electonic 9506?

The door will not open on my Hotpoint Electonic 9506. The handle does move but nothing happens what is wrong with it and does it need a new door/catch?

has the plastic handle snapped where it moves the door striker pin back out the way to allow the door to open?
