I am not up on this model, But general, If stuck on something, needs a reset. Could be you need to remove battery, then try power up, without battery, (pulls down any holding capacitors etc)There maybe a pinhole inside somewhere, that could be the reset to factory default button. Most have an internal battery, as a memory back up, first thing is that pinhole, before pulling it apart, Which might not fix it anyway, especially if you not sure what to do. If you find the pinhole, put a pin type probe into it, preferably something plastic. If that fails, sometimes leaving it without any power, no battery, not plugged in etc, for a couple of days. will deplete the backup battery, and the message. If that fails, Sorry, could be they are correct. But try things as above first. NEED to remove all power from it.
