how do i grt round this starter motor clicks when try to start

(start the test with a fully charged battery)
so charge it for a good 12 hrs, then try it,if it still click click suspect battery not holding charge
but if starter motor now starts the vehicle would test the alternator output, a good output is 13.5 14.5 volts, any lower change the alternator as its pulling the battery down

Old trick, was to tap it on the end with a hammer. But in the long run would really need to be removed and cleaned. Having said that, I did it on my daughters car last yr, been ok since.
