magna clean filter?

The MAgna Clean filter on my gas central heating sytem was full of sludge after 1 yr. Plumber recommended expensive power flush of system & chemicals to protect radiators & boiler. Is this necessary?

I have just fitted a fernox tf1 sludge remover on my system(check ebay)This is a magnetic sludge trap that can be emptied as often as you like. You may have to pressurise your system occasionally if its sealed.

Im guessing the system is old and the magna clean was fitted maybe with a new boiler??? The system should have been flushed if you have had a new boiler fitted otherwise it will make the warranty invalid.
A powerflush is definately a good idea if you have sludge in the system.
