Draining down sytem?

I drained down my system in order to clean the system with Fernox through the draincock on the boiler but it took well over an hour to empty the tank. After I put the Fernox in and filled the tank again the whole system seems air-locked and it is days before the heating gets through to some radiators even after leaving the air vent open. Do you think the problem is an airlock or some kind of blockage and if so how can I fix it. Many thanks.

The vent you mention is the Open vent not an airbleed vent. You need to either check for other vents or call someone who knows what they are doing. Sorry but without seeing the installation it's very hard to comment/help

IT SOUNDS MORE LIKE A BLOCK THAN AIR. POSSIBLE SO SLUDGED UP IN HEAT EXCHANGER WHAT IS THE WATER LIKE IN THE F/E TANK BEFORE YOU EMPTYED IT

It is a floor standing boiler. I have drained down through a radiator and also throught the draincock on the boiler. The only air vent is the pipe taken over the feed tank.
The hot water circulation which has its own pump is very poor and I have to use the immersion heater to get hot water.
Thanks for your reply.

WHAT BOILER IS IT, IS IT FLOOR STANDING, HAVE YOU NOT GOT NO DRAIN OFF POINTS ON ANY OF THE RADS. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRAIN THE WHOLE SYSTEM IN UNDER 15 MINS. WHERE IS THE AIR VENT.
DO YOU HAVE HOT WATER
