Why will the CD unit installed in my Ford Fiesta not eject the CD?

The CD unit in my 2005 Ford Fiesta Ghia will not eject the CD. It is a factory fitted Ford 4500 RDS EON unit and an error message E83 shows on the screen.

Can anyone offer any advice to release the CD?
