How to fix a Durabrand TV (model BH2004D). HELP!?

A few days ago my TV wouldn't turn on. It just went dead. One day it was fine, and then I woke up and it wouldn't turn on. The red line that indicated the access to power isn't on either, so I see it as a...dead tv..... did a fuse blow?...do tv's even have fuses? Need anyone's help.... I really can't afford to buy a new one.... this is a new tv, not even a year old. It's a Durabrand TV and the model is BH2004D. Throw any suggestions at me!!!

I do not have and answer but the funny thing about all this is THE same exact thing happened to me. On the day of my birthday(exactly 1 yr that I had the tv) it did the same thing. I still have the tv and this happened over 1 yr ago. I bought another tv the same brand (go figure) and luckilyit still works well it is only the 27th of july and this happened on the 12th of July 2006.

I have one of these myself, it still works as of today, but I lost the remote lol.

Well any way, sounds like a blown fuse, since the power led is supposed to be on when the TV is plugged in.

If you have the courage to take apart the TV, you should beable to see where the fuse is located. Find a replacement or bypass it (not recommended though, since its not safe if what caused the fuse to blow happens again). But returning it may be the easiest way to fix the problem.

You don't say where you live but Durabrand is an own brand of Wall-Mart. If you are in the United Kingdom, take it back to Asda and get your money back. Under UK legislation TVs have to last longer than yous has. If you are in the US, check your local consumer legislation.
