Hoover Savvy - the brushes don[t spin?

The vaccum caught some tassels and now the beater brushes underneath don't spin at all. Is there a reset type button or something I can do to untangle it?

I have the same model vacuum and the power head stopped working. I traced all the wire looms and found a broken (burnt in twain) yellow wire between the powerhead enclosure and the main vacuum enclosure. This wire was located in the black bundle that can be seen externally running to the powerhead. I had to open the bundle, splice the wire and re-seal the bundle with electrical tape (no critics need reply, please). The constant bending of this wire surely promoted this failure - the designer should have foreseen this as a failure mechanism. However, your vacuum may have a different problem. I don't recommend working on it yourself, as there are many parts, most of them don't easily fit together.

Also, the thumb switch on the handle is devastated, as arcing casued by switching has removed almost all the copper from the contacts- a little QA/QC would have found this problem prior to being released on the market. I'm sure my vacuum isn't the only one with fried switch contacts.
