my new shed?

can i use 2.5 swa cable to power my shed? im going to spur off my house ring ring with a 13 amp switched spur. i have been told to fit an rcd unit in my shed which will protect the wiring. i want two strip lights and two sockets. also my house has just recently been rewired with a 17th addition db. is this the correct procedure or do i need a second opinion?

that sounds ok - as long as the distance isnt too far (i wouldnt go more than 20mtrs on 2.5mm) - if its further install 4 mm armoured instead.

Remember that your avalible supply in the shed will be 13amp in total - so if you have any fixed aplliances make sure they will not exceed this

What you are doing is ok but if your house sockets are protected by an RCD you dont need to fit another one
