cd will not play when inserted but the
radio works ok.

Sounds like its not reading the disk. Buy a CD laser lens cleaning kit. These cleaners are very inexpensive and can be found at PC World/Comet/Argos/Tesco/Etc....Try that. Put the disk in, follow set up and run it...might be cheaper before paying someone to fix something that could be remedied in a few minutes.
