improving brakes?

my for ka 1.3 2003 plate just pasted an mot test with flying colours HOWEVER this car takes to long to brake and required a very strong foot to bring to stop, this car would not make an emergency stop. HOW CAN BETTER BRACKING BE ACHIEVED ????????

Better check the servo (if fitted) & pipework. Car cannot be roadworthy if it can't do an emergency stop. How did it pass MoT ?

brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years, as it absorbs moisture. replace it and you may find your brakes will improve. also, when was the last time your brakes were striped down, cleaned, de-scaled of rust/corrosion, lubricated with copper grease and rebuilt.
