How to fix my Miele Novatronic W853 Washing machine?

In order to start my Mièle Novatronic W853 washing machine, I have to lock the on/off switch in an engaged position using a tooht stick or any other suitable object with a wedge shape. In other word; I have to hold in the switch in an engaged possition to run the machine.
What is wrong?
