There are 2 retaining springs in the top front holding the hinged top of the machine to the front panel. Take a slot-head screwdriver or prefarably a putty knife and insert it horizontally in the crack at the top front panel, first on one side about 2 inches from the left side, then on the other side. Apply some slight pressure to release the spring while pulling up on the lid. Once you are able to lift the lid, there are 2 screws holding the front panel to the sides.
