how to fix blank display on bush dab radio ne3120

Had the same issue with a Bush DAB radio, started off when readout started to pixelate then ended up blank, but with back light still lit.
So when reading about the flux being an issue I dismantled the radio and cleaned all soldered connections with a cleaning solvent reassembled plugged it in and hay presto all working name of station and banner running saying what record was being played.

After about 20 mins of operation, the display began to show scrambled data. Upon restart, the display was blank again.
Reopened unit and cleaned more hardened flux between contacts (interboard). Also bent some leads upward which were not sufficiently trimmed. Wires are long enough to short tracks or between joints. I'll trim it later when I have my prescision wire cutters. Reassembled and it is working again. Now running for an hour with no issues.
Circuit board seems to have an assembly issue.

I've got a Bush BR08DAB in which the LCD panel went blank after a few weeks of use. Backlight was still working.
I opened it up (4 screws on rear and removed rubber feet) and cleaned all the flux on the circuit board especially around the LCD panel using a contact cleaner solvent with a wipe. Closed it up and it now works fine.
Flux does strange things on sensitive circuits.
