a good place to start here is with all filters including fuel pump filter.check turbo ;cold engine; remove turbo intake cover so you can see into the turbo ,impeller and turbo casing should be free of sooty deposits and oil .check for free play on impeller bearing if all is tight and clean then move on to the fuel pump.hopes this helps m8.

Usually when the turbo is on its way out it would blue smoke, fuel problems black smoke and water problems white smoke

would try cleaning your egr valve/intake,has the filters been done lately?

Hi mate, have you tried the basic stuff , ie fuel filter, air filter, if they havent been done for a while this will make your van black smoke. Its worth doing them first as its a cheap repair before you look any deeper

turbo?.when they give up they bail smoke just before they blow up and destroy the engine completely!.check the oil level straight away
