After the agitatiopn cycle, the machine stops and beeps repeatedly and the "warm" and "cold" lights come on. The water in the machine can only be removed by disconnecting the drain pipe at the lower back corner of the machine. This makes a mess of the floor but doesn't solve the problem! Any help appreciated.

Suggest you read your owners manual or if you don't have one either get one from the Simpson agent or Google it online. It will tell you what the error codes are when it beeps. I can't tell you what your error is because you have to count the number of beeps and put that together with which lights are on to determine the error code. Probably either drain pump not working or lid switch faulty. Check the drain pump for blockages.
