Does that USB stick works when connected elsewhere?
Does another USB device connected to the same connector works?
It could be that it's not geting any power from the USB connector, hinting at a faulty connector.
Maybe it was deactivated on that computer.
With the stick connected in, navigate to the device manager and check that it's set to active status. Correct that if set to "inactive, don't use"
