Bring your laptop to your local repair shop to have them replace the keyboard. Some of the connectors are a real pain to work with and easily broken.
They have the tools, illumination and workshop magnifiers needed, you probably don't.
Next, once the repair is done:
Take the habit of folding down the screen when you are not using the computer.
Another solution is to get or make, a keyboard cover that you place on when you're not using the computer.
Both will prevent your cat from walking/sleeping on your keyboard :/
