how do i get my older phillips magnavox tv out of shut down mode?

my tv comes on and stays on about 5 to 10 seconds then cuts off by its self can u help me fix this problem

see if there is a timer set in the menu to knock itself off after 10 mins, if so clear it, or you could try , to power it down, by unplug it over night, , take the plug out of the wall socket ,,
