When the full washing cycle of our Bosch machine is switched on the dial indicating the various stages does not stop moving, passing through each phase in about 10 seconds.

Could the fault lie with the microchip, or perhaps the motor mechanism of the dial is faulty?

Just want to know in case the engineer tells us that the whole machine needs to be replaced during this recession!
