Diplomat ADP 8242 funny lights?

Diplomat ADP 8242 dishwasher. Our dishwasher has suddenly started going through a weird cycle where it starts off making the right noises, then stops after about 5 minutes. When opened, the spray and eco lights are flashing with the heavy wash light on steady. Despite various attempts at moving filters around, (at the base), nothing happens. This only started after I cleaned a load of glass and other gumpf from under the filter. Is this a fault code of some kind, or has anyone any other ideas. Thanks.

You are a life saver Paul! We had the same three flashing lights with a steady fifth, and your reset solution worked a treat. Nice one.

Trouble is I've got no excuse now, looks like I'll be spending the money you saved me on Wii Fit for the girlfriend for christmas!

Paul (Oct 2006); You are right you have to be really fast with the 4 presses (I'm right handed so pressed on with my left index finger and the P button with my right which meant crossing arms-hope this makes sense) but it worked, wow fantastic!

Paul your a fantastic man - I had exactly as you have described with lights 1,2,3, flashing with 5 on steady, I followed your instructions to the letter and hey presto ! you have saved me almost £250 which is what they were going to charge me - I would buy you a couple of pints if I ever bump into you - once again many thanks

regards
Colin

I had an error code combination that was not described in the user manual. You can try a reset, it seems this washer has an overflow sensor setting on the pcb but is not fitted with the sensor hardware! I got error lights showing 1, 2 & 3 flashing and 5 on constantly.
Turn off at the power button and leave for 10 seconds.
Turn on power button and press the program button 4 times
I found that you had to be very quick pressing the program button four times after powering up. You know you've hit it right when then two outer lights stay lit.
Then push the program button once.
Then power off (without closing the door).
Wait 15 seconds then power up and the reset should have taken place.

Good luck
