clock stopped on Vaillant bolier?

hello all, looking for any advice, we have a Vaillant boiler turbomax plus 828E and the timer clock has just stopped going around so basically we can't use the timer function at all. Does anyone know if we need a plumber or an electrician to fix it or is there something we can do to fix it ourselves?
thanks,

Can I just ask, not being a very technical person, does isolate the electricity mean unplug the boiler? Thanks for your help,

If it's the internal type of timer (on the front of the boiler), it's a straightforward change, ensure it is electrically isolated, gently prise the timer out of the boiler cover (a small flat blade screwdriver or similar will do it), and insert new timer offering it up squarely to the gap so that the pins on the rear of the timer line up with the holes in the cover of the boiler.
