First determine whether it charges ok from usual usb cable connected to your pc.. If that's ok, it'll be a poor contact on the docking staion.. remove any protective cover you may have on ipod, and remove any plastic inserts that may have come with your docking station so that you can push the ipod down further onto the connector.
