My washing machine keeps turning itself onto a 30 minute fill cycle fills then switches off for 3 seconds and repeats, I cannot reset it and have checked all pipes for blockages and everything is clear, im reluctant to call an engineer if it is something minor

thanks i blew down pipe and is clean, it is showing a error code E04 if that helps

Sorry, not clear, you say fills, stops then starts fill cycle again. What about emptying between? If not, could be water level switch. inside m/c, a pressure switch, usualy to top of m/c about 2.5 3 inches diameter, 2 wires, and a pipe. Pipe will go down side of drum to a connection at base of outer drum. Sometimes gets blocked with detergent at bottom end, So m/c does not know water level. Pull off of pressure switch and blow down pipe, If you can feel a pressure, blocked, so blow harder, should clear, if not get to bottom end of pipe, disconnect, clean out, refit. IF not this repost.
