How can I fix Fisher Paykel Smart Drive 703 washing machine noise on spin?

My Fisher Paykel Smart Drive 703 Washing machine is making a heavy rubbing noise during spin cycle. Have tried it empty and without the agitator but the noise remains. The machine is level and otherwise in good condition. I have also checked that there is nothing caught between the bowl and the tub. Is there a brake on these machines or is it an electric brake?

Fairly easy compared to some makes & models. Too much details needed to give step by step instructions on here. Best thing would be for you to Google search a service manual for your machine. I believe they are available on line.

Thanks. How easy is it to replace the bearings and seal.

No brake. The motor stops by the electronics. Noise on spin is usually because the main bearings need replacing.
