hi there......whats the model!!..........common cause of your problem could be if you have a trailing cable fitted which sits on top of rail upperside of carriage,the wires in this can break due to wear and tear as it goes round the pulley wheel at top of rail causing lift to stop in same place........also anotherthing that can happen is the footrest plate is hitting steps on the way up/down this would only happen if someone is on the stairlift so try running lift folded up/with no one on it!!,....also some older lifts had limit arms fitted on back of carriage to stop lift top/bottom of rail, i found customers would drop things behind rail causing the limit arm to activate[checked nothing has dropped behind the rail]........hope this has been of help............ian......portsmouth/uk
