Removing batteries on stannah 420 stairlift ?

I have tried replacing a pair of batteries on a stannah 420 stairlift,I can remove the lower battery but not the top battery because the seat is too low down and I can’t remove the cover, any ideas of how to raise the seat?

There are actually 4 bolts behind the front panel,remove the bottom two and loosen the top two in the slots and the seat will lift.
