Be exctremely carefull if you plan on overclocking. Done wrong or to agressively, it can destroy the CPU, BIOS or memory.
There are no particuliar precautions if it's to install and recognise a new hard drive.

Ther are a range of bios manufacturers most use either "del" or "f2" on power up. Beware what settings you alter ie bus speed as this could damage the pc

Not sure on your model but it is usually either the Delete key or F2
