I can get the picture on for just a moment if I use the front (Video 2) input [this box is separate from the screen.] It just lasts a second when I insert the yellow plug, then loses sync and fades away. Seems like it could be something simple but it's not worth a lot of effort to fix - 2004 model.

That size set is probably cheaper to replace than to bother fixing it, especially Sony, since they only use Sony parts internally which can sometimes be more costly.
