how can i fix the fridge on my Beko Ab910?

HI
our Beko AB910 fridge freezer has started freezing items in the lower part of the fridge compartment.
some rob dog came out and charged my wife £25 and said it was the fan, but he isn't returning calls, does anyone know if this diagnosis is correct and is it an easy fix to do yourself ?

thanks

Hi,

its a common issue with that model,

the lower part of the fridge freezes and the top section of the freezer not freezing,

this isn't a auto defrost problem,

nor does the fridge need defrosting,

its the circulation fan that has failed,

The fan is inside the freezer section towards the top.
You need to take down the ice cude tray up at the top and then remove the top section of the back panel.
Then once this is off you will see the fan and be able to replace it from there.

check out

Do not know the model off hand, but it could be to do with a fan, if auto defrost, could be defrost heater not working, so will just continue to ice up. the fan would get blocked with ice and stop, which then makes it all worse. would suggest 1st, manually defrost it, you might then be able to hear any fan, unless it has had it, but will not know until defrosted, If fan on, then auto defrost heater not working, with unit unplugged, inside, back panel, will come out, behind, 2 coils, 1 is the evaporator, the other is the heater, the heater will be plugged in, so you can unplug it and check if open cct with meter, also look for a thermal fuse attached to it, that might be open cct. after that, a thermistor attached to the evaporator coils, reading from that varies, other than that, back to control circuit.
