The machine stops as the water is not heating. By manually moving the programme forward it will go through a full cold wash. What is the problem, heater or thermostat?
stick a meter across the terminals of the element.Good one should be around 29ohms give or take.Open circuit reading needs replacing

i will start at thermostat cause it is the cheapest and easiest,to check heater you can put direct power on to it but put some water in washer just to make sure it work
