I have tried removing the water filter from the setup. I've run the drinking water from the dispenser for over two minutes and checked that the flow rate is correct. Suspecting lack of water pressure, I've checked if there is a flow of water from the wvalve for the water feed line to the ice maker and it appears that the valve will not open.
