The machine is working fine but we frequently get jet black greasy/rubbery spots and streaks on the crockery. There also is a lot of spots in the filters although we clean them regularly. Only white spirit seems to clean the spots/streaks, soapy water will not clean them off satisfactorily. There are no other problems with the machine.

Are you using something that isn't dishwasher safe?.Have you tried using a PROPER dishwasher cleaner and running a cleaning cycle as per instructions?
