LG Tromm WM1812CW won't drain?

Checked filter and removed a small piece of white plastic. Tried again and it stll won't drain.. Drained through the filter again as the small hose was clogged. Removed front cover. Removed pump and would like to check it to see if it is bad. How do I test it using a multimeter.

Thanks jj. You were right on what to check.

Had the pump checked by a friend who is an electric motor expert who said the part that grabs onto the impeller shaft was worn and was not grabbing when the current turned on. I replaced the motor and all is well. He showed me the movement of the shaft.

The impeller shaft will pull out a half inch or so.

I found out how to test it and the meter read 15 ohms so it was within the 10-20 range. Impeller won't spin freely. It will move a quarter turn or so at a time when try to move it by hand. Does that mean the pump is bad?

if its a electrical pump there is an easy way to do if you carefull not to get electricuted.strip the pump assy off and put some tape on one vane, after connecting power hold your finger close to tape to feel if its turning a full circle and not just agitating,it does happen sometime that the pump motor sound like its turning and meanwhile just moving back and fro around the axle.also check impeller for security of attachment
