My BEKO WME 7247W is not heating the water?

I have had a BEKO 7247w for 18 months with no problems however recently we noticed that the machine was stone cold during the programme seemingly the water not being heated by the machine. The programmes however seem to work as normal but the clothes are not as clean as they normally would be.Has anyone any ideas before I have to call out an engineer ? Thank you

thanks ck..."open circuit" could you expand ? + would the heating element be accessed from the back of the machine or underneath

multimeter across the heating element.Look for around 29ohms.open circuit means you need to replace it.loosen 10mm nut in centre of element and carefully prise it out .fit new one in reverse should you find it open circuit. That will save you some money!
