Hi I have to have an assignment finished tomorrow for college but my start toolbar and all icons Everything managed to go vertical on the right hand side of the screen . After trying for hours to get it back, the start icon is now halfway up the page!! It's impossible to type looking at screen sideways! Plse plse someone help as soon as possible. Would be eternally grateful. Xxxx

You mean, the screen is rotated 90°, or the task bar is on the side but the rest is correctly oriented?

If the task bar is not here you want it, simply click in some unused part and drag it to the side of the screen you want it on. You can place along the bottom, top or ether side of the screen.
Click on it's edge and drag to adjust it's width. You can make it ocupy as much as half the screen surface that way.


If the image is rotated, it depends on your OS version and video card maker. In windows XP and Vista, you need to right click the desktop, sellect "Properties"
Then, use the "Parameters" tab, "Advanced" button, then it depends on your video drivers and brand specific utilities.

In Windows 7:
Keyboard shortcut:
Try holding the Ctrl + Alt keys and hit the UP arrow.
The DOWN arrow will flip your screen.
The left and right arrows should put you in protrait mode. Maybe you accidently used that...

Alternative way:
Right-click on the desktop, select "Screen resolution," then, in the dropbox next to the "Orientation" label, select "Landscape"

Once you know them, you can undo them if they are done upon you, or you accidently put yourself in such a situation.
