Radio reception?

After 'ere indoors being talked into world radio's by sales persons saying 'Yes that's the one, good clear reception' and finding they've been crap for clear BBC reception in France.
I propose fitting subject to replies the following.
Radio (car type)
Connection via small sat dish aerial.
Do I also need a satelite receiver? (Ouch! £99)
I do have a freeserve box for TV will this do?.
Thanks in anticipation.

can you not receive digital radio on your freeserve box?,.

We are on freeview and can get loads of radio stations.

As for using a car radio,I don't think it can be directly linked to a sat dish,
I would assume you would have to rig up some sort of aerial. If you can receive the broadcast in your car, then signel is good,so setting one up in the caravan sounds like it would work.
If reception poor sat is the way to go.
