undo the gasket off the front panel, next remove the two screws that hold the door interlock but at the same time keep two fingers behind the screwsat the back of the lock or you will loose the nuts . when these are undone you will find three screws on the bottom front edge undo these and pull the panel down which will give you access to the heater. when you are starting off after taking off the gasket look down the inside of the panel you may just find a lead burned off the element if so just re tag . if it needs an element any from the later series of hoover will fit
